Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify what PRONAF is, who the possible beneficiaries of the program are, who the financial agents are, and whether the values released are being used to increase production, thus fulfilling the socio-economic purpose of the program. To this end, a literature review was made in the pertinent literature; Investigations at sites of government agencies; interviews with the producers of the municipality and interviews with financial agents. This research is relevant, since the city of Mogi das Cruzes has great agricultural potential, standing out in the national scenario in the production of vegetables, being that a large part of the city's producers use family labor. 75 producers were sought, from various regions of the city. It was found that the resources were used to increase production and generate income, but there are still gaps to be met in order to achieve the real objectives of this public policy. These gaps can be translated, for example, into better monitoring. in the use of employment the credit and the greater commitment on the part of the financial agents.
