Abstract

This article reports on a field study in which psychology students were asked about their motivations and expectations regarding the course and chosen career, before and after applying the active guided study methodology. The objective was to identify teaching needs and promote individual reflections, integrating theory and practice in a more consistent way, respecting the individualities of students. A bibliographical review was carried out to support the study, analyzing several theoretical proposals on student protagonism in learning. Furthermore, the methodology applied included the use of targeted texts, which students transformed into practical content for future psychological approaches and courses. The research results brought an improvement in the clarity of students' objectives and significant preparation for the demands of psychological practice.
