This study analyzes the recycling of end-of-life tires in the municipality of Valinhos, Brazil, from the perspective of sustainable supply chain management. The central objective was to examine the practices adopted by a specialized company in the sector, based on primary data collected through a semi-structured interview with the technical manager, in addition to document analysis and a literature review. The results highlight the relevance of reverse logistics in the collection and proper disposal of such waste, emphasizing the company’s commitment to monitoring environmental indicators such as CO² emissions and fuel consumption. Approximately 30% of the collected tires were found to be in reusable condition, significantly contributing to the circular economy. The study also revealed that, although the private sector plays a strategic role in solid waste management, structural challenges persist—particularly regarding the coordination between companies and public policies. The research reinforces the effectiveness of the case study method for understanding the logistical and environmental processes involved in the reverse tire supply chain. It concludes that strengthening environmental legislation, alongside incentives for sustainable practices and integration with the instruments of the National Solid Waste Policy, is essential to enhance the positive socio-environmental impacts of this activity. The findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the traceability and reverse logistics practices implemented by the company, as well as the challenges faced in scaling the model. The study thus contributes to the academic and technical debate on sustainable solutions in supply chain and waste management within the Brazilian context.
