Abstract

In large cities, the high demand for buildings, both residential and corporate is enormous, the number of construction sites has grown absurdly in the past few months. Such urbanization process and the disordered occupation of the urban space, has been promoting abundantly significant negative impacts in relation to the environment, impacts such as floods, which are increasingly austere due to the impermeabilization of the soil with the lack of a plan with the inclusion of rainwater management. Through these questions, one of the studied solutions is about the concept of Low Impact Development (LID), aiming at the management of rainwater referring to its origins without the urbanization having a negative impact and allowing the flow to be made without interruptions. In this context, it is possible to apply green roofs, a study that is responsible for numerous advantages in addition to the pluviometry issue, but also in characteristics, thermal and acoustic issues, in other words, it contributes to the qualitative and quantitative control of the metropolises. The employability of green roofs is increasingly being used, for example, in shopping malls, homes, corporate buildings, even though it is a relatively high-cost method when compared to other equivalent alternatives, such as asphalt blanket. It is possible to prove that even with the high cost in the long term, it becomes the most viable option and with the greatest gain in advantages to the installation site.
