Abstract

This study highlights the importance of human resources management (HRM) in businesses, especially in family-owned ones, emphasizing the need for effective practices in this area. Throughout the article, we meticulously analyze the recruitment process in family businesses, exploring the hidden resistances faced when hiring a human resources management (HRM) professional and the impacts these companies face over time due to the lack of effective management in this area. Through a case study, challenges such as high turnover and lack of adequate training were identified; however, the results revealed a notable predisposition among employees to tackle such obstacles and seek professional growth. We conclude that effective HRM not only reduces risks and costs but can also be a competitive advantage. Therefore, it is crucial for companies to recognize and strengthen their personnel management practices to ensure long-term success.
