Abstract

The Human Resources sector is essential for the success of organizations, as a structured recruitment and selection process enables significant benefits. The aim of this research is to demonstrate how the lack of qualification of an HR professional in the recruitment and selection process can negatively impact the company. We adopted a bibliographic methodology focusing on the collection of data and existing textual analyses through books and academic articles, along with a case study. This study was based on a real situation that occurred in a company, where there was a need to hire for a specific position. After conducting a selection process, a candidate was chosen, but later, despite numerous integration attempts, they were eventually terminated due to lack of adaptation. Faced with this issue, it was identified that the lack of structure in the HR department can result in hiring candidates who do not align with the organization's culture and values. To prevent employee turnover and failures in the selection processes, it is necessary to invest in the organizational structure by ensuring that professionals are suitable for the position.
