La mucositis oral es la inflamación y ruptura de la mucosa oral presentando sintomatologias de dolor, aftas y quemadura, esta afección se presenta en pacientes que reciben quimioterapia con fármacos alquilantes como ciclofosfamida, antimetabolitos como el 5-fluorouracilo o el metotrexato, así mismo se identificó diversos tratamientos no farmacológicos como enjuagues bucales a base clorhexidina, Placebo (solución salina) y crioterapia, esto se llevó a cabo com la finalidad de Identificar cuáles son los tratamientos no farmacológicos para la mucositis oral durante el tratamiento antineoplásico, obteniendo resultados favorables en los pacientes seleccionados.
